About Me

Prof. Dr. Gökhan Tunçbilek was born in Ankara in 1968. He graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anadolu High School in 1986. After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1992, Dr. Tunçbilek completed his plastic surgery residency at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

Dr. Gökhan Tunçbilek, who continued to work at Hacettepe University after his specialisation, worked on congenital or acquired deformities of the head and face, distraction osteogenesis, cleft lip and palate, haemangiomas and other vascular deformities. Dr. Gökhan Tunçbilek became an associate professor in 2005 and worked at the ‘Hopital Necker Enfants Malades’ Craniofacial Surgery Unit in Paris for a period of 3 months. In 2006, he completed his doctorate in ‘Advanced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’ at Hacettepe University and received the title of ‘Doctor of Science’. In 2011, Dr. Tunçbilek became the first Turkish member of the European Society of Craniofacial Surgery and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery. Dr. Gökhan Tunçbilek, who has many domestic and international publications, was awarded twice in the ‘Expert Research Competition’ organised by the Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Dr. Gökhan Tunçbilek also received his speciality in Oral, Facial and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2012.

Dr. Gökhan Tunçbilek is interested in congenital or acquired deformities of the head and face, distraction osteogenesis, cleft lip and palate, breast reconstruction, facial and body aesthetic surgery procedures.

Since October 2023, he has been the Head of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Hacettepe University.

He is married with two children.
